Why are you riding with @alpineeveresting?
For my father and father in law who are currently fighting Cancer, For all the people I love who have been touched by Cancer. To be a part of a team doing something extremely challenging and epic!
Longest ride: 280k in Noosa (Ultraman Australia)
Favourite cycling memory:
Day 2 completion of Ultraman Australia the toughest ride I had ever completed ...this ride made me realise what you can do if believe in yourself and don’t give up.
Greatest sporting achievement: Ultraman Australia 10k swim/140kride-280k ride-84k run over 3 days in Noosa QLD. Completing 5 x Ironman Australia.
Favourite event: I love anything to do with swim, bike, run but to be honest the longer the better. I’m not fast but I have a diesel engine that just keeps going… The red carpet of Ironman is definitely pretty special. Ultraman... can’t wait to go back and do this again!
Favourite endurance fuel: Infint although my Ultraman crew may disagree!
Favourite bike snack: Jelly beans, Bananas
Coffee order: Ever met an athlete that doesn’t drink coffee? That’s me!
Favourite workout song: Eminem - till I collapse
Favourite climb: Comboyne and the iconic Mathew flinders drive Port Mac always a test of the legs on the 2nd lap of Ironman Australia
How many bikes do you own? 3
Tips for endurance riding: Consistency in training, fuelling right and recovery. Positive thinking. Never under estimate what you can do if you put in the work your body can do almost anything!
Tips for cycling mums/women: Just do it! Get out and have a go… you don’t need the most expensive bike or cycling gear, none of this matters as once you get started you’ll be having too much fun to worry about that .
How do you juggle work/family/cycling? If you love something enough, you just make it work.
How do I get into cycling if I’m new to the sport? Get in touch with local cycling or triathlon groups in the local area.
What would you say to a woman who is contemplating joining us? Believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable, you can train your body but its important to train the mind. Positive thinking and not comparing yourself to others.
