Why are you riding with @alpineeveresting?
To give back… I have had a lot of friends and family who have been affected by cancer. To be able to use my health and fitness to raise awareness and much needed funds for an incredible cause, with such a strong and passionate bunch of women (and men), is something I am so grateful for. The Everesting Roam journey and event are nothing compared to the fight of those who have battled cancer or had loved ones battle it. In particular, the Indigenous community where the inequality is evident, making the battle and fight a lot harder. To give back in small ways really is something special.
Longest ride: 210kms – recently with Jasmine. We rode from the Central Coast to Sydney via Berowra Waters, Galston Gorge, Bobbin Head and returned the same way. We spent majority of it laughing and I have to say, it was one of my most enjoyable rides.
Favourite cycling memory:
Riding next to Terenzo Bozzone for a #second as he rode passed on a climb, in Spain. I had enough energy to yell “Go Terenzzo” and I got a wave. The smile didn’t leave my face for a long time.
Funniest on-bike moment: Falling off in a car park, in front of about 300 triathletes because I forgot to unclip. Rookie Error! I am still claiming I’m a rookie.
Greatest sporting achievement: 11th at ITU Long Course World Champs 2019. Riding in the Green and Gold was amazing.
Charlottes Pass & Macquaries Pass. Although, I only like going up so I can have fun going down.
What would you say to a woman who is contemplating joining our next adventure?
We have all been that woman with self-doubt at some stage. Reach out to the team or even DM me for a chat. The women in this Team are so supportive of all levels and you might just surprise yourself.
